AI traffic

See the visits AI sends you, page by page.

Being cited only matters if people click. Citable counts the visits that come from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and other assistants, shows the pages they land on and puts them next to what AI cites. Honest about what it can’t see.

01Cookieless script

Visits from AI assistants, without cookies.

Paste a tiny script once (under 1 KB, the same on every page) and Citable counts the people who arrive by clicking a link in an AI assistant’s answer, week by week and assistant by assistant. No cookies and no personal data. There are steps for Framer, Webflow, WordPress and other platforms, and a button to check it works.

  • Visits per assistant, every week
  • Share of all your page views (a lower bound)
  • Installed in about two minutes
02Landing pages

Where they land, and whether AI links there.

The landing pages of visits from AI, with the assistants that sent them. Pages that AI also linked to in the latest weekly check are marked, so you can see which citations actually bring people.

  • Landing pages from AI, last weeks
  • “AI links here” next to the pages it cites
  • Visits and AI recommendations side by side, by period
03Google Analytics 4

Already on Google Analytics 4? Connect it instead.

If you’d rather not touch your site’s code, connect Google Analytics 4 with read-only access. Citable stores only daily counts per landing page: total sessions and sessions that start in an AI assistant, classified with the same list as the script. No user data.

  • Read-only access
  • Only daily counts per landing page
  • Disconnect at any time and the counts are deleted
04Search Console

Search Console, to improve the pages that almost make it.

Connect Search Console (read-only) and Citable spots pages close to the top of Google, with a low click-through rate for their position, losing traffic, or not cited by AI for a question you track. For each one it proposes a concrete, sourced change, as a draft, and measures its effect afterwards.

  • Page improvements a month: 4 on Starter, 10 on Growth and 20 on Business
  • Clicks, impressions, CTR and position per page, synced every Monday
  • Nothing changes on your site until you publish it

The illustrations use example data from a fictional studio, Studio Norte.

Why it matters

A citation that nobody clicks is half the story.

AI tools mention many brands and link to fewer. Knowing which citations send people, and to which pages, tells you what to repeat.

  • It’s a lower bound, and we say so

Clicks from Google AI Overviews and AI Mode arrive as normal Google searches, and some apps hide where a visit comes from. Every figure here is a minimum.

  • No cookies, no banner

The script counts visits without cookies or personal data, so it doesn’t add anything to your consent banner.

  • Effect, not promises

“Up” or “down” only when the difference is bigger than chance (a 90% test). Otherwise: no clear change yet.

How it works

Three steps, then it runs every week.

  1. 1

Install the script or connect GA4

Copy the script into your site, or connect Google Analytics 4 if you prefer not to touch the code.

  2. 2

    Connect Search Console

Read-only access to clicks, impressions, CTR and position per page.

  3. 3

    Read the visits every week

Visits from AI next to what AI cites, and the pages worth improving.

FAQ

Questions about this feature

What people ask before they start. If something’s missing, write to us.

Write to us
Can you count visits from Google AI Overviews?

No. Clicks from AI Overviews and AI Mode arrive with the same referrer as a normal Google search, so no tool can separate them from outside. They count as Google, not as AI.

Does the script use cookies?

No. It’s under 1 KB, doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t identify anyone. It only records the page visited and the site the visit came from.

Why are the figures a minimum?

Some apps (mobile assistants, desktop apps, links copied into a chat) don’t send the page a visit comes from, so those visits look direct. Visitors who block scripts aren’t counted either.

What access do you need to Google Analytics and Search Console?

Read-only access in both. From Analytics we keep only daily counts per landing page; from Search Console, clicks, impressions, CTR and position per page.

Do you count AI crawlers too?

Only on sites served through Lantis, our sister product, and only on translated pages: crawlers don’t run JavaScript, so the script can’t see them.
